WHY ASIAN SPECIFIC?

To date there are very few organizations providing quality services tailored to culturally specific populations. At this time, there are thousands of Asian families who do not seek professional assistance for their children with disabilities. Asian cultures commonly possess negative religious and political theories and social stigmas regarding having a child with disabilities. This has a tremendous negative impact on the families' lives as they become socially and mentally withdrawn from the community. As a result, their child receives limited or no services due to the lack of knowledge and involvement with the larger community.

Parent to Parent POWER provides interpreters/translators, community supports and other services to ensure families are not isolated from society. Intricate and special services are needed to ensure their child receives the services he/she needs.

Our staff provides in-home services to ensure an initial neutral and comforting location for discussing assistance options.

Other community-based services do not possess resources to provide the specialized services that Parent to Parent POWER provides.
